Umbraco Poland Festival Roundup

This year we were delighted to host the second edition of the Umbraco Poland Festival in the beautiful city of Kraków, and we’re pleased to say it was a great success on all counts!

We had a fantastic venue, lots of awesome attendees and some really wonderful speakers. We hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did, (especially the pre-parties and after-parties of course). For those of you who couldn’t make it, or if you just want to relive the highlights from the festival we’ve put together a short roundup, complete with some of your lovely tweets and feedback about the festival.

We’re very happy that the Umbraco community within Poland is growing so fast, because this is what makes Umbraco so special. We are even happier that we could host people from abroad and that we can, with absolute confidence, call the Polish edition of the Umbraco festival international.

Without doubt, with every year, the Umbraco Poland Festival grows in strength, we don’t want it to be just a conference. The day before the festival, we organised training sessions where attendees were able to obtain Umbraco certifications, so now we have even more Umbraco Masters in Poland - yupii

The second edition of the festival brought some really wonderful speakers. Niels Hartvig (@thechiefunicorn) from Umbraco HQ, showed us not only how to do the Macarena, but he also spilled some seriously exciting secrets about what awaits us in the Umbraco-sphere. Søren Spelling Lund (@publicvoid_dk) shared his knowledge with us about clean code and Paul Marden (@paulmarden) gave us an example of how to build intranets with Umbraco. The list of speakers goes on, those of you who were with us on the day will know what a fantastic range of talks we had, so we’d like to say an extra big thank you to all of the speakers!

Women of Umbraco

Last year we had 3 women at the festival, 2 of which were from The Cogworks. This year, as you can see on picture below, we have improved, as we are 7!! We’ve more than doubled the turnout from last year! Go Umbraco women power!

We do our best to make this conference as tech-friendly as possible :-) This year one of our devs built a custom welcome screen with Twitter feed! Nothing has escaped our attention. If you think that this tool can be useful also for your event just give us a call and we can share it with you.
